Railroads

The eighteenth century was a period of shifting alliances and interaction between Native Americans and Europeans. The Segesser Hides represent an unspecified encounter between rival tribesmen, one side possibly accompanied by a Spanish leader. These painted hides (most likely bison) and associated artifacts provide an intriguing window for the visitor into the relationships between different peoples in New Mexico at the time.
