The New Mexico History Museum is at the forefront of the Museum of New Mexico Foundation's Shape the Future Campaign
Q & A with James OrtizTo date, $36 million in federal and state funding has been raised for the New Mexico History Museum. Now is the time to do our part—to raise the private funds to ensure the completion of this one-of-a-kind campus of facilities made up of the New Mexico History Museum, the Palace of Governors, the Fray Angélico Chávez History Library, the Photo Archives, and the Palace Press. With an emphasis on telling our state’s stories that give a new perspective on the history of this country, the visitor-centered cultural campus will be multicultural and multigenerational and when completed will stand as the largest cultural investment ever made in our community. It offers exceptional and exciting exhibition plans and programs that will serve all the citizens of New Mexico as well as visitors who come to our state.

We have great news to share with you: The Kresge Foundation has awarded a prestigious Challenge Grant to help complete the New Mexico History Museum. Now is the time when your participation in this project will be leveraged by the Kresge Foundation's challenge.

We have already raised $4.1 million in private funds for the New Mexico History Museum. When we raise the remaining $1.7 million for the New Mexico History Museum in this important campaign, the Kresge Foundation will give a generous grant of $750,000. With your help (every gift—no matter what size—counts!) we can meet this challenge.

This opportunity to support the New Mexico History Museum at its beginning is a once-in-a-lifetime chance. Join us!
