New Mexico Historical Timeline

DIVE DEEP INTO NEW MEXICO HISTORY FROM ANYWHERE IN THE STATE!

Who were the groups, people, places, and events that shaped New Mexico? Students can answer these questions in the classroom or on a visit to the museum using the following resources. Timeline summaries give age specific overviews of each historical period that students can refer to when filling out the New Mexico Historical Timeline Worksheets. Can't make it to the museum? No problem,  you can use the Timeline Worksheets and Summaries in your classroom!

Historical Timeline Worksheets

The New Mexico Historical Timeline Worksheets (the Worksheet) are a versatile tool for students of any age to delve into New Mexico history from any location! Students select topics that interest them (such as a lowrider, a genre of music, or a local historical site), place them on the timeline, and draw connections to the people and events of the past.

The Worksheet is aligned with New Mexico Social Studies and English Language Arts Common Core State Standards and are available for different ages in English and Spanish.

Introduce students to the Timeline Worksheets using the Human Timeline Activity for 3rd grade and 4th grade and older. Please e-mail us feedback and pictures if you try this activity in your classroom!
