Register for the annual 2024 Old Spanish Trail Association Conference in the Land of Enchantment, October 31st-November 3rd, Pope Hall at First Presbyterian Church. Come explore Santa Fe, where the Old Spanish Trail begins. This is your chance to experience the unique beauty of this historic landscape in New Mexico and network with friends – old and new.
Friday, Nov. 1 evening talk at The New Mexico History Museum, provides a comprehensive overview of New Mexico’s rich history, making it a valuable destination for those interested in deepening their understanding of the state’s past. The museum is a connecting point for all communities–telling the stories that made the American West, from the early lives of Native peoples to Spanish colonists, the Mexican era, Santa Fe Trail merchants, the railroad, cowboys, outlaws, and scientists. The NMHM is located just a few blocks from the Conference Center at the First Presbyterian Church.

4:40 PM Walk over to the New Mexico History Museum
5 PM Welcome by Billy Garrett, History Museum Director
5:15 PM “More than Trail Sheep: Albert Toomes and the Undocumented Significance of the Old Spanish Trail,” Dr. Tom Chavez
6:15 PM Access Museum exhibitions till 7PM
