Railroading and Old Santa Fe

an Exhibition, Short Film, & Lecture about NM Railroad History

The Old Santa Fe Association and the New Mexico History Museum have partnered for “Railroading and Old Santa Fe.” This history event will feature a visit to the exhibit "Working on the Railroad," a short train film by John Gaw Meem, and a lecture by railroad historian Fred Friedman. Friends of History Wednesday Lecture Series

Deeply Honored: Two Heroes of the 442nd

Please join Fred Hagstrom, Emeritus Rae Schupack Nathan Professor of Art, Carleton College, for an ONLINE presentation about the incarceration of people of Japanese descent during World War II, as part of our Friends of History lecture series.  The talk is based on two artist’s books: “Deeply Honored” and “Returning Home”, and covers the student relocation project, an initiative that allowed some students of college age to leave camp for their education, as well as the loyalty of Nisei who left camp to volunteer for military service. ...

Museum Holiday Open House

Free Admission

Please join the New Mexico History Museum, the Museum of Art, and the Friends of History to celebrate the holiday season with a combined open house event. Along with music, crafts and holiday cheer, we encourage you to weave through the history of New Mexico and enjoy fabulous art in our gallery exhibitions.

Museums are open 10-5pm, and events are scheduled from 11-4pm.
